PHOTOGRAPHY
I have always gravitated towards the power of a well designed photo, and utilizing references from across industries and methodology allows me to create captivating product work. Starting with a digital sneaker render reference by Add & Blur Studios I set out to produce as much in-camera as possible, sculpted by LED lighting and rendered clean with photoshop.
Photography is what really permitted me to move into marketing and graphic design professionally. I started with product photography in a hand-built studio to land contracts and moved into modelled photography while managing a camera department and running social media for Jax Mercantile.
I have always gravitated towards the power of a well designed photo, learning how best to sculpt studio lights and when to sit still and wait for the right moment as the sun is about to break out from a bank of clouds. I use photography to tell stories, and I am more than happy being behinds the lens or moving through touch ups and color correcting in the Adobe suite to enhance the final product often to be placed in print or digital spaces.

ON-SITE PHOTOGRAPHY
When you can’t control everything around you, as in studio photography, getting the best work out of any environment is greatly rewarding and often tells an extremely human tale. I’ve scheduled many sessions with models and industry professionals to showcase products, places and events. I also then will direct the photoshoot itself, whether I am behind the lens or acting as a second camera. It’s important to come into a photoshoot with clear, defined goals and to work to make sure your goals function in the best way to fit into the brand’s messaging and overall story.
EDITING AND MANIPULATION
Though I do love film, and shoot it when I travel, marketing and graphic design require us to be able to clean up and manipulate images to best emphasize what we are looking to engage viewers with. To that end I have over 20 years of experience in Adobe Photoshop, having studied design in college and stayed with it as an excellent tool to this day. One of the most rewarding projects is seeing a photograph, reverse engineering the important aspects of it, compositional choices or color theory, and then recreating it to great effect with in camera and post-processing work. This also comes i handy using Adobe Illustrator to bring in traditional graphic designs to photographs taken in studio or on site.
